The curves of the arcs are reflected in the design of the dome. It has a mosaic on the outside of the cathedral, although it only dates from 1975. The cathedral dates back to the nineteenth century, but was rebuilt after the 1956 earthquake, so it can be said to be quite modern.

The Catholic Cathedral It has a great contrast with respect to its Byzantine neighbors. Highlights the clock tower, beautifully adorned in which are also the bells. The interior is decorated with large religious portraits framed with pilasters. The dome of the interior is made of blue lilac and orange and cream. Don't forget to take a look at the confessional at the door. The cathedral has been restored and inaugurated in 1975 after suffering the earthquake of the 1950s.

Hi Iñaki, we plan to go a few days to Santorini and I would like to give me your opinion on the town most suitable to stay. Thank you.

I stayed at Fira, more than anything because you have everything near (restaurants, bars, shops, banks ...) and then I caught a car to go to visit the island, keep in mind that from end to end of the island you have a car half an hour, no more, is small. Fira is as close as a city is concerned, and you have both super expensive (and spectacular) hotels and more Baratitos hotels if you walk away from the city. In addition, from the old port of Fira, the excursion to the volcano comes out. If you are paid money and you like the tranquility, go to Oia, the hotels located on the edge of the caldera are the most I've seen in my travels.
If you have more questions, don't be polite to ask.
